Search Committee seeks input

Dr. Randy Zercher, Minister of Music at Westbury UMC, has announced that he will retire at the end of December, 2010, after 21 years as our music leader, minister, mentor and friend. He has meant so much to our family of faith that words will be insufficient to express our gratitude. However, we look forward to celebrating his remaining time with us during the next 6 months. His final Agape Youth Choir mission trip was just completed and their home concert was presented on Wednesday, June 30. This was the twenty-first youth mission trip for Randy during his tenure at Westbury.

With an eye to the future of Westbury’s music program, a search committee has been formed to fulfill the music needs of our church in 2011 and beyond. The SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee) has charged this committee with gathering information from the congregation, assessing that information, and developing a job description before proceeding to the hiring phase. The members of this committee covet your prayers and will seek your input through a questionnaire.

Please make your thoughts and dreams known by responding to the questionnaire and/or by contacting a member of the committee directly. Members are Becky Grinstead, Chair; Robert Lockhart, Kathryn Kubena, Sarah Winkel, Joyce Akins, Ken Henderson, Sossiena Sanders, Laurie Sturdevant, Christina Rodriguez, Vincent Sanders, and Rev. Tommy Williams.
