Volunteers
Needed for Youth Ministry
We are
gearing up for a great fall with several new programs, including open gym at
3pm on Sundays and a Bible study at 7pm on Wednesdays. With more going
on, we are in need of some willing volunteers to help make we can offer
the best youth ministry possible.
Fear
not! We have plenty of different opportunities for volunteers to help
out. Whether you want to help out on Sunday, or during the week; at the
church, or from the comfort of your own home; having fun hanging out with
youth, or working behind the scenes on your own, there is a volunteer
opportunity for you.
Click HERE to see the list of volunteer opportunities.
Please
contact Cody Cruise if you are interested in more information. He can be
reached HERE or 713-723-0175. If we do not have enough volunteer help, some programs
may have to be scaled back, or cancelled altogether.
UMY Mission Statement
The ministry to teenagers and their families is a significant part in the life of Westbury United Methodist Church. We attempt to reach out to the youth of today through a variety of spiritual, educational, musical, and physical activity programs. We encourage teenagers and adults alike to be a part of this exciting ministry!
Membership
The United Methodist Youth (UMY) is an organization open to all 6th through 12th graders without regard to ethnic origin, ecomonic condition, sex, or religious preference. All youth who are currently or potentially associated with the United Methodist Church or any of its activities are considered members. This age level grouping promotes a forum for free expression of convictions of vital issues to youth.

UMY
The UMY regularly meets on Sunday afternoons for programs and at other scheduled times for games, activities, and trips. Youth group members are challenged to assume responsibilities in connection with the total program goals of Westbury. This organization is dedicated to Christian FUN and FELLOWSHIP. Service projects and mission trips provide youth with the opportunity to enjoy fellowship while offering service to others.
